Reinvent Blue develops solution frameworks and campaign strategies designed to help Democratic candidates win elections and govern effectively. The project improves when people contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, and share what works.  A range of perspectives and new voices are welcome.

Values First

Successful campaigns begin with values people recognize as fair, practical, and worth supporting. Reinvent Blue identifies those values and develops policy solutions and campaign strategies that reflect them. Learn more.

A Community Project

Reinvent Blue will only be successful if people who come to this website provide feedback. The content will improve over time as you share your ideas for new policy solutions and campaigns. You can do that here.

Intended Outcome

Our hope for this website is that Democratic Party candidates and consultants will use this website as a resource to develop winning campaigns and to solve our real problems when they govern.

How We Win

To win elections, Democrats must expand our coalition and improve how we govern. This will require honest self-reflection and offering real Solutions to our real problems. It is not 1933. We have to stop recycling the New Deal.

We also must run effective Campaigns led by trusted Candidates. Let's do that: together.

Is this website helpful? have an idea to contribute?

Reinventing How Democrats Solve Problems and Govern

The Economy

Global Risks

Global Risks

Democrats need an economic agenda that does more than defend past programs or promise more spending. The goal should be to build a future economy that expands the middle class, rewards work, strengthens communities, and helps Americans adapt to automation, AI, outsourcing, and global competition.  That also means creating conditions for long-term economic security, upward mobility, and broadly shared prosperity in a rapidly changing world. Global Risks

Global Risks

Global Risks

America faces a new generation of global threats that don’t fit neatly into traditional foreign policy categories. From geopolitical instability and economic fragmentation to climate pressures, pandemics, and emerging technologies, these risks are interconnected and accelerating. The challenge is not just to respond to crises, but to anticipate them and build strategies that protect U.S. interests while strengthening global stability. Learn more.

Governing

Social Stability

Social Stability

Government is where good ideas succeed or fail. Too often, public institutions are slow, fragmented, and unable to execute at the level modern challenges require. The result is frustration, loss of trust, and missed opportunities to solve real problems.

The task is to rebuild governing capacity. That means designing institutions that are faster, more accountable, and able to deliver clear, measurable results in people’s lives. Learn more.

Social Stability

Social Stability

Social Stability

A healthy society depends on more than economic growth or effective government. It requires a shared sense of fairness, trust in institutions, and confidence that the rules apply to everyone. When those foundations weaken, division deepens and instability follows.

The challenge is to strengthen social cohesion while addressing the underlying drivers of distrust, inequality, and polarization in ways that are practical, durable, and broadly supported. Learn more.

Reinventing How We Campaign And Chose Candidates

To expand the tent we need to listen to voters

Campaigns must connect with voters in credible ways and produce candidates who can govern effectively once in office. Too often, messaging is disconnected from real concerns, and electoral success does not translate into governing success. Our challenge is to develop campaigns that are grounded in practical solutions, build broad coalitions, and prepare candidates to lead with competence and credibility.

We take two different, but complimentary paths to accomplish this. One path focuses on Campaign Strategy: developing winning campaigns that are structured differently for Blue states, Red states, and Purple states. The parallel path focuses on Candidate Fit: identifying and supporting the types of candidates who are most credible, effective, and electable in each political environment. Learn more.

To expand our coalition we need to face some difficult truths

If we want different election results, we must be willing to challenge some of our own beliefs and assumptions. Many voters who once supported Democrats no longer do.

Understanding why requires honest self-reflection, a willingness to listen, and the courage to discuss uncomfortable realities. Learn more.
